Conversational English

This course is for all students who are interested in improving their conversational English. The course will accomplish this through weekly English discussions, debates, role-playing activities, speeches, field trips, and various other activities which will allow students to practice speaking English. Each activity will also include constructive criticism from the instructors to assist in improving diction, pronunciation, annunciation, and fluidity. The ultimate goal of this class is for all participants to be comfortable talking to and speaking to a native English speaker.

The class is graded on a pass/no pass basis. In order to pass, students cannot miss more than 3 lessons. During attended lessons, students must participate in all class activities. Homework will also be given out, mainly in the forms of journal entries and three minute speeches. Journal entries must be 1 page handwritten or ¾ page typed. Students must complete all homework in order to pass the class even if they miss class.
This class is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in any major. International students are especially welcomed. This course is not intended for native speakers of English.
